Although Pearson do not specify formal entry requirements, as a centre it is your responsibility to ensure that the students you recruit have a reasonable expectation of success on the programme. For students who have recently been in education, the entry profile is likely to include one of the following:
A BTEC Level 3 qualification in Computing
A GCE Advanced Level profile that demonstrates strong performance in a relevant subject or adequate performance in more than one GCE subject. This profile is likely to be supported by GCSE grades at A* to C (or equivalent)
Other related Level 3 qualifications
An Access to Higher Education Certificate awarded by an approved further education institution
Related work experience
An international equivalent of the above.
B.Sc (Hons) Computing
To enter this Program at the start of year 3
A BTEC Higher National Diploma in Computing with a Networking or Software development specialism studied at Info Myanmar College
Or a BTEC Higher National Diploma in Computing with a Networking or Software development specialism from a Pearson Edexcel accredited institution or an equivalent qualification subject to the discretion of the programme leader.
Other related Level 3 qualifications
And English language skills with IELTS 4 skills overall score (6.0) or TOEFL 4 Skills overall score 80 or Pearson’ Test of Academic English_Versant Test overall score 56 or Cambridge English Proficiency (CPE)/ Cambridge English First (FCE)/ Cambridge English Advance(CAE) overall score 169
M.Sc Information Technology
Students will be eligible to apply if they have gained one of the following qualifications:
A Bachelor’s degree in Computing
A Bachelor’s degree in related fields with a minimum CGPA of 2.50
A Bachelor’s degree in related fields with a minimum CGPA of 2.00 can be accepted subject to a minimum of 5 years of working experience in the relevant fields and rigorous internal assessment.
Without a qualification in the related fields or relevant working experience must undergo appropriate prerequisite courses determined by the university and meet the minimum CGPA of 2.00 can be accepted subject to a minimum of 5 years working experience in the relevant fields and rigorous internal assessment.
Other qualifications equivalent to a bachelor’s degree (Level 6, MQF) in fields of Computing or related fields recognised by the Government of Malaysia must undergo appropriate prerequisite courses determined by the university.
MINIMUM ENGLISH LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS
